Prep Transition Programs
Ready, Set, Prep! Pre-Prep School Experience
We warmly invite families with a child starting school next year to join us for our Ready, Set, Prep! Pre-Prep School Experiences.
These fun and engaging sessions have been carefully designed to help children become familiar with our school, meet their classroom and specialist teachers, and explore a range of exciting learning spaces. Families will enjoy participating in a variety of activities together, including:
Storytime in our Library
Sing and Play in our Music Room
Make and Create in our Art Room
PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) in our Multi-Purpose Building, where children will develop important foundational physical skills such as eye-h
and coordination, balance, body awareness, and spatial awareness.
Our Ready, Set, Prep! sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for children to build confidence, make new friends, and begin feeling at home in their new school environment.

Later in the year, we also offer our Formal Transition Program to support children as they move from Kindergarten to Prep. These sessions are led by our Prep teacher. To ensure a smooth transition, we encourage parents and carers to attend sessions with their child until they are comfortable to participate independently in the remaining sessions with the Prep teacher.

Prep Buddy Program
To help our Prep students feel welcomed and supported as they begin their school journey, Mount Beauty Primary School is proud to offer our Prep Buddy Program.
Each Prep student is paired with a Year 6 Buddy, who provides friendship, encouragement, and support throughout their first year at school. From the very beginning, this special partnership helps our youngest students feel safe, connected, and confident as they settle into school life.
Our Buddy Program also provides valuable leadership opportunities for our Year 6 students, fostering a culture of care, responsibility, and mentoring across the school.
By building these meaningful relationships, the Buddy Program helps children make friends, develop a strong sense of belonging, and become valued members of our school community.
