Our canteen is open for snacks and lunch every Tuesday and Friday, providing healthy meal options and seasonal foods for our students. Careful consideration of the nutritional value of food and drinks on the menu ensures well-balanced choices for students and parents. The canteen menu has been coded in three colours to help make selecting appropriate lunches easier. Green choices are everyday foods with high nutritional value and should be eaten as part of a healthy diet. Amber foods such as biscuits or muffins can be high in energy and have a lower nutritional value so should be selected carefully and in small servings. Red foods should only be enjoyed on occasion once or twice a term.
The Mount Beauty Primary School Council oversees the operation of the school canteen and currently outsources to the Mount Beauty Neighbourhood Centre the overall organisation of the canteen.
Parent volunteers are welcome and provide a fantastic support for the efficient and friendly operation of the canteen.
Volunteering in the canteen is a great way to be involved with your child’s school and meet other parents and community members. Please see How to get involved for more information on volunteering in the school community.
To place a lunch order please write on the outside of a lunch-sized paper bag the following:
Please include money for payment inside the bag. It is much appreciated where correct money is provided. You may pay for more than one child’s order by making a note on the order bags. Each child must have their own separate order on a bag.
Please ask your child to place their lunch order in the lunch order tub before school on canteen days.
